MANA announces that two new members have been elected to the association’s Board of Directors:
Marilyn Kahler, president of Tri-Fab Solutions, Scottsdale, Arizona, began her career as an independent manufacturers’ rep in 1986. Prior to becoming a rep, she enjoyed a successful career in real estate. She was then hired as a business development manager for an established rep firm, and she became the sole owner of the company in 2008. Kahler’s agency supplies made-to-print components manufactured by multi-spindle, Swiss and complex machining. Products represented include die casting, injection molded plastics, stamping, spring and wire form.
Commenting on her desire to serve on the Board, Kahler said: “I would like to support people that are just starting out on the adventure. Plus, I always like to learn more about our industry. MANA has been a huge help and support throughout my career. I would like to give back by volunteering my time.”
A former high school teacher, Marty Grimes, president/owner of Assembly Solutions, Inc., Fort Wright, Kentucky, has been a MANA member for more than two decades. Assembly Solutions represents principals who design and build custom automation and assembly, plastic welding, leak testing, robotics, and custom-part handling. A graduate of Hanover College, Grimes began his career as a sub-rep in April 1993 following nearly a three-year period as VP of sales & marketing for Indianapolis based Automation & Assembly Integrator.
Prior to 1993 Grimes spent the previous 10 years in a regional technical sales role for RBW Corporation and later in the non-ferrous metals business with Bridgeport Brass Company as a national sales manager.
Describing his role as a rep, Grimes maintained, “We have always been advocates of professional sales representatives and continuing education to have the highest level of an independent manufacturers’ representative company.”
