Starting an Agency

By

This month’s theme is “Starting an Agency.” Whether you’re new to the representative profession, or a seasoned veteran with a successful sales company, we all can gain additional knowledge from the pages in this month’s issue.

In fact, when we poll our members on the value of our association, Agency Sales magazine is consistently listed first. However, I am continually amazed at the countless other services MANA offers that are not used by our members and associate members alike! I have two challenges that I hope everyone will take on.

A fellow professional sales agency owner recently told me that what he learned from a seminar program he attended many years ago continues to reward him with additional hundreds of thousands of dollars. This person also continues to take advantage of the many educational, mentoring and networking opportunities MANA offers. I surmise it is not just that one program, but the continual desire to learn and improve that makes this individual so successful. I wonder, are we all positioned to go down this same path?

I challenge both the new representative and the seasoned owner to try something “new” from MANA. Expand your horizons, and history has shown that you will be pleased with the results.

A member who recently became very involved with MANA after many years of being a “paying member” said it this way: “Most of our members have no idea of how much MANA does for them. The strategies and tactics implemented on an ongoing basis are way beyond what most of us realize. Thank you MANA, for all that you do.”

We, as a board and staff, are trying to communicate better to our members. Hopefully, you will continue to realize what total value MANA provides. Additionally, you will seek out all the resources that MANA has to offer.

In this regard, I also challenge to you to communicate back to us what your needs are. What would you like to see done better? How can we help you succeed? What are your biggest issues today? Pick up the phone or send us an e‑mail. The contact information for the MANA staff and the MANA director who represents your district is listed on these two pages. We welcome and encourage your feedback.

Good Selling!
